the beauty and benefit of connection
The process entails opening and getting in touch with what pattern and energy is there in that location that wants to be born. If you allow what is already there to be built then when it is walked upon it will be an even stronger and more beautiful experience because it is in right alignment with the energy of that specific place on earth. When a labyrinth is approached/built in this way it has the effect of bringing a connection point between the person and the Earth helping us to get into alignment with the energies of the Earth in a beautiful way.
The energy of a labyrinth can be used by people walking it to give their worries, sorrows, fears or pain over to the Earth with the labyrinth being the doorway for it to be transformed/neutralized or “composted.” It can also provide a deeply peaceful space that allows us to practice walking meditation, mindfulness or perhaps even brings insights and creativity. A labyrinth built in this way is an opening to an ancient connection that allows our own hopes, dreams, and prayers to come alive. The energy of each labyrinth is different and has special meaning to each person who experiences it.

This is the same pattern as the tea light labyrinth made from wooden branches.

The path follows the outside the sticks and winds into the center of each individual spiral and then back to the center after each spiral.

The tea light labyrinth is in the pattern of the 4 spirals shown here

Tea light labyrinth using pattern from entrance rock at new grange, Ireland

Labyrinth built under the full moon on the winter solstice

Winter snowfall covered the labyrinth but the tea lights stayed aglow!

Labyrinth is oriented to each of the 4 directions (East, South, West and North) always walking back to the center before spiraling into the next direction

Pattern is that of the entrance rock at new grange
